About Us

Ken Health Care was founded in 2006 by Lyn Kennedy-McKenzie to meet the needs of seniors wanting high quality holistic care or help with daily living, on the Caribbean island of Jamaica.  It is currently registered for 11 residents that need assistance with personal care. Our facility gives clients and their families a uniquely superior environment that offers personal, client-focused care with highly trained, highly qualified and caring staff.
Our mission is to provide compassionate, high quality personal care – physical, emotional, social and spiritual – to all clients without prejudice to race, creed or religious persuasion.

Situated in the leafy district of Knockpatrick, in Jamaica’s elevated southern parish of Manchester, Ken Health Care provides seniors with a veritable ‘home from home’.  Set within what is known locally as ‘the White House’, we offer clients and their families a range of on-site services that cater to each individual’s particular needs including sheltered accommodation and assisted living services.   We also offer specialised service for those living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.

Ken Health Care offers easy access to the capital, Kingston as well as to towns such as Maypen, Santa Cruz and Christiana.  Ken Health Care is also ideally situated with access to local amenities including shops, Post Office, Mandeville Central Hospital, Doctors’ offices, the Northern Caribbean University and Church complex, hotels, parks and other leisure facilities.

Ken Health Care Management

Ken Health Care is led and managed day-to-day by director, Lyn Kennedy-McKenzie.

A State Registered Nurse, State Certified Midwife and Health Visitor with several years of bedside and community nursing experience gained in London, England, Mrs Kennedy-McKenzie is certified by both the Nursing Council for England and Wales and the Nursing Council of Jamaica.

Overseeing Ken Health Care’s core nursing staff team, all of whom are certified by the Jamaican Ministry of Health and Nursing Council of Jamaica, Mrs Kennedy-McKenzie is supported by a team of ten able staff.

Ken Health Care’s board of directors supports all of the onsite work. This group‘s experience spans the medical, pharmacy, nursing, social work, community service and pastoral fields of knowledge and the advice of the board augments the quality of client services.
